We get hypnotized every day when we watch television or get too immersed in a book, hypnotism occurs when we feel like a part of another world. It happens to us whenever we play computer games and go to a cyber-world that feels almost real. This is why it should not be surprising to believe that hypnosis works. In the last decade, we have seen how it has emerged from a simple from a fictitious notion towards becoming a legitimate remedy used by doctors and psychologists to solve problems that affect people daily.

Self-hypnosis Information Guide
Hypnosis has a number of uses. Not only is it effective to help you, it can also be used to reduce the need for smoking. It is now considered as a way to motivate people from all walks of life. It has helped people deal with stress and depression by enforcing positive attitudes and beliefs into their subconscious mind.

Can Hypnosis make You Do Anything that is Against Your Will?
Contrary to popular beliefs depicted by the media, hypnosis can't make an individual do something that is against their will. Nobody can be hypnotized if they will not allow it. This is what we call a 100% consent state. In truth, hypnosis is a state where people are still aware of what they want to be doing.

Self-hypnosis information states that people will not go to sleep when they are hypnotized, unless they command themselves to be. If you already want to go out of the hypnosis, then all you need to do is will your mind to wake up. All normal people can be hypnotized. There are just some who have higher adrenaline levels, thus giving them a hard time to calm their mind.

How Long Will the Sessions Take?
The process and number of sessions will depend on the amount of information that you want to get inside your mind. It also depends on the number of memories that you want to let go. More sessions are required for forgetting traumatic events. It takes passion and commitment, and a lot of repetition and discipline in order to achieve success.

Hypnosis can help a person minimize their stress. It can increase self-confidence, as well as motivate a person to achieve their goals. It can likewise increase sport performance and improve one's focus and memory. Self-Hypnosis information states that the process can help a person think positively in order to remove depression. It can remove fear and phobia and can help a person feel free and confident. In addition, it can help a person feel relaxed and in control of their life.

Some Self-Hypnosis Information You Need to Know

Hypnosis is now being considered by licensed psychologists and health workers for solving medical problems. Some illnesses cannot simply be cured by drugs as most bodily pains are triggered by stress. When the mind is unable to focus and think positively, it begins to fear and feel anxious. When this happens, a person becomes vulnerable, loses sleep and goes into a state of depression. It makes a person unwilling to change their life and routine, and because of this, they suffer not only emotionally and mentally but physically as well.

Self-hypnosis information can be used for treating negative thoughts that usually contribute to low self-esteem, anxiety and behavioral disorders. It can also lead a person to feel confident about themselves, to get past traumatic events by drawing strength from within.

It helps people get past their family problems and worries and helps them solve their nervousness and shyness. It makes a person look forward to better things by allowing the mind to rest. In order for a person to get into a hypnotic state, they must go to a silent room, close their eyes, think of pleasant images and thoughts and picture scenarios that they would like to occur. They can try to picture having their ideal body weight, picture themselves hugging and laughing with loved ones, then slowly counting from 1 to 10 to relax the muscles. Sometimes, this could even start by not thinking at all and going into a state of "no mind."

The state of "no mind" allows the mind to rest, to let go. People do not really need to be in a situation in order to enjoy something, simply by imagining things they can get the emotions, which they have been hoping for. If a person likes to see their successful self, they have to be able to feel it even when it is not yet there. This is one way to prepare the brain to react and to enable one's self to think outside of the box.

Self-hypnosis information includes training one's self to breathe deeply and increase the amount of oxygen sent to one's brain. Some people are too busy to remember to do this and as a result, they feel more tensed. It is important to remember to inhale, and exhale, often, in order to relax. Using self-hypnosis, a person can learn to substitute motivating thoughts for negative thoughts.

The best thing about self-hypnosis is, that there is no need to spend money in order to see a therapist. This not only saves time, but also money and gives the power to the person to choose the life they want to live.

In order to become knowledgeable in this method, read articles on self-hypnosis information. Learn by reading quality articles from the experts or by attending local hypnosis schools. Seek out people who are knowledgeable in this area and seek guidance, ask for suggestions and then deepen the exercise by trying it out, in order to see how it works. Remember, that this is not a onetime deal and has to be practiced regularly in order to work.

Self-Hypnosis - A Good Treatment for Anxiety Disorders

Self-hypnosis has been used by people worldwide to treat almost every sort of personality disorder, undesirable trait and characteristic, fear and lack of self-confidence, among others. The two processes of treating such disorders through hypnosis are almost the same. They only differ in the type of suggestions and affirmations introduced to meet the subject's goals. In particular, anxiety disorders can be modified through the use of self-hypnosis. This could certainly give a person hope, don't you think? With self-hypnosis, a person can reduce or eliminate their anxiety disorders such as Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD). This kind of mental disorder causes an individual to behave or perform a specific action repetitively, despite the fact that they are aware that such behavior is abnormal. This is because people who have OCD believe that if they do not repeat certain actions, terrible things will happen. Because OCD is a form of mental confusion, and is located solely in the mind, self-hypnosis serves as an ideal response.
Obsessive Compulsive Disorder may include cases of frequent hand washing, repeated cleaning of doorknobs, extreme hoarding, closing and opening doors for a fixed number of times before entering the room, and many other repetitive behaviors. These actions are too numerous to mention here, and are brought on by intrusive thoughts that cause uneasiness, apprehension, worry, and fear. Sadly, a person with OCD knows that their behavior is not not normal, but they feel they must do these things to prevent catastrophic things from occurring. Self-hypnosis is a remarkably effective method for overcoming this kind of anxiety disorder.
Many other treatments are available to cure Obsessive Compulsive Disorders. The most common treatment is probably medication that an individual takes at a specific time each day in order to inhibit certain chemicals affecting the brain and the ensuing mental perception of the person. Another method used to cure OCD is exposure therapy, where an individual is prevented from performing their repetitive acts. This method would have a somewhat harsh effect on an individual with OCD, and it is not a recommended form of therapy.
Self-hypnosis, however, is recommended to anyone who has an anxiety disorder like OCD. Added to the fact that it is free of side effects, it has been proven safe and effective, because it uses neither chemicals nor harsh methods of treatment to stop the repetitive actions. Self-hypnosis is, however, sometimes used in conjunction with other therapies, particularly with medication therapy, to successfully eradicate the whole disorder. Self-hypnosis as employed to treat this disorder may be difficult at first, since an individual with OCD is anxious by nature, a condition that could inhibit the chances for success. It is recommended, therfore, that one perform self-hypnosis only after a series of sessions conducted by a certified hypnotherapist. This will provide adequate time for the patient to adapt to the entire process. Once ready, an individual can download a hypnosis mp3 format to begin the process of self-hypnosis. These mp3 files will aid those with OCD in the process of hypnotherapy. By following the suggestions and affirmations of the narrator/hypnotherapist, he or she will enter the customary trance state, making it possible for the suggestions to be absorbed by the subconscious mind. This deeper part of the mind is responsible for the actions of the individual, although they are converted by the conscious mind into what is perceived as correct behavior in this reality. Self-hypnosis targets the subconscious mind, sending it affirmative suggestions to eliminate the anxiety disorder. In the case of OCD, positive affirmations directed at that area of the mind that controls the disorder will give the person suffering from it a chance to change the way he or she handles situations that provoke repetitive actions.
Obsessive Compulsive Disorder is a very difficult condition to live with. If you have OCD and have been dealing with it for many years, then it might be time to try self-hypnosis. You can certainly use this method in conjunction with other conventional treatments. Just make sure that you learn and master the process of self-hypnosis before attempting to overcome OCD alone.

Self-Hypnosis: The Simplest Way To Change Your Life

"Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication." -Leonardo Da Vinci

The personal development industry typically makes changing your life much more complicated than it needs to be.

There are a variety of methods of change work out there... not only changing habits, but also changing attitudes, beliefs, and even your own identity or self-image... who you perceive yourself to be.

One of my favorite methods of change is hypnosis. There are many methods of hypnosis, and there are many hypnotic effects that can be used for change (and any method you can get to work for you is a good method). The most obvious, most common, and most natural method, however, is repetition. Many people are on a quest for a book, meditation, video, or therapist that will give them the amazing one-shot fix of their dreams. Unfortunately, this is a very haphazard method. Again, the much more reliable method is repetition.

Another proponent of repetition for change, and perhaps the best known personal development genius of the 20th Century was Napoleon Hill... the best selling author of Think and Grow Rich. He was also a fan of hypnosis. In his book, the fourth chapter is all about auto-suggestion, which is just another way of describing self-hypnosis. He also has a famous quote regarding repetition:

"Any idea, plan, or purpose may be placed in the mind through repetition of thought." -Napoleon Hill

Before I say what I'm about to say, I want to let you know that there are great hypnotists out there, and there are other powerful practitioners of other methods of change-work. Many of them can get you results quickly. A few can even get you results in a single session. The vast majority, however, are not able to do this.

Once again, the only guaranteed method of hypnotic change is repetition.

One of the great things about it, though, is you do not need anyone else to do it. You can set up your own experiment for repetition with self-hypnosis just by following the simple steps in this article.

The best way to do this is to use a process that I call the 21 day protocol.

What the heck is the 21 day protocol?

It is the method that you can completely transform a certain aspect of your life in the next 21 days or less.

What you have to do right now:

Take a few deep breaths to relax deeply.Decide on 1 thing you would like to change about yourself or your results in the world in the next 21 days (do your best to stay relaxed and focus in on what would truly be satisfying to you). When you are certain you have a goal you are ready to commit to, write it down.Put it in a place where you will see it every day (preferably multiple times). You can make it your desktop background, your screensaver, you can tape it up above your bed, you can tape it up somewhere in your car, etc.Schedule it out on your calendar (whether it's a physical calendar, outlook calendar, Google calendar, etc.) for the 21 days with today as Day One.Do your practice for Day One... which is relaxed visualization of what you will see, hear, and feel now that you have achieved your goal. Take at least 5 minutes (preferably 20 to 30 minutes) to really get acquainted with all the changes you like about your life now that you have achieved your goal. Continue to relax and visualize all your favorite things about your new life for the remainder of your time. Now mark it off on your calendar (or in some other way journal or note that you completed your practice for the day). Congratulations, you have completed your practice for Day One!Now continue to follow through by repeating steps 6 and 7 for Day Two through Day Twenty-One

That's it! If you followed along with the steps, you've already done the hard part of getting started. If you didn't follow along, go ahead and take a few minutes to get started right now.

As you go about your day-to-day life, you will also want to:

Be alert for new opportunities (or opportunities that you may not have noticed before).Do your best to follow what seems like the most likely path to your goal until a better, faster, or more effective path presents itself.Gently coach and encourage yourself the whole way through. If you make a mistake or miss a day, tell yourself this or something similar: "That's ok. This happens. Every time I come back to this it gets easier and easier and I get better and better at it."

Most people seem to do better when the practice at the same time each day, or close to same time.

It might not be easy to stick with this for 21 days... but you can definitely do it. It won't be easy finding a simpler solution than this. I encourage you to recognize that the next 21 days are going to pass one way or the other. The way I see it, you might as well let them be a part of your transformation.

Who will you be at the end of the next 21 days?

Will you be the person you want to be?

Will you be a person well on their way to becoming the person you want to be?

Or will you be a person who feels very disappointed that they didn't follow the simplest effective (and free) process for personal development on the planet.

"If you want to do the many things that most people can't do, simply do the few things that most people won't do!" -Frank Kern

I don't think you can make it any simpler than that.

Godspeed on your journey!

5 Steps To Use Self-Hypnosis To Stroll Down Self-Esteem Street

So lets hail a cab and head for self-esteem street, shall we?

5 Steps To Stroll Down Self-Esteem Street

As with many processes and techniques using self hypnosis, this one requires you to find a comfortable place where you are going to be undisturbed for a while, and sit in a comfortable chair rather than lying down in bed. Now sit back and relax with both feet on the floor, and place your hands on the armrests of the chair or in your lap - whichever is the most comfortable for you. Ensure that our arms and legs are not touching each other (uncrossed) and proceed.

Step One: Take yourself into hypnosis. You can do so by any means you desire or know of. You can use a progressive relaxation process or a meditative technique, or any other method you know of that is going to ensure you are focused, receptive and absorbed in your thoughts.

Once you have induced hypnosis, move on to step two.

Step Two: Imagine that you are in your local town centre or the city that you live in at this busy time of year (if you do not celebrate Christmas where you are based, you can pick any other celebration or time of year when the streets are full of people and it is a busy place to be).

Really engage your imagination and see the sights, the colours, the movement around you. Notice the shades of light and textures of all the activity. Notice the random nature of the busy-ness and the hustle bustle of people. Listen to the sounds of all the life going on around you, get a real sense of tuning into the liveliness.

Notice and observe all the buildings and become aware of the shape and direction of the street you are in and that you are familiar with.

Walking with purpose along this street, but slow enough to truly take in all the details, observe all the action, watch all the movement and motion happening all around. Tune in to the surroundings and fully engage in them. Tell yourself that each step you take along this street takes you deeper inside your mind, and that despite the frenetic nature of this place, you relax physically as walk along the street.

Once you have created and really got the details with as much clarity as you can all around you, then move on to the next step.

Step Three: Firstly, pause in the street, let the activity go on all around you and engage in this moment. Become very self-aware, notice your breathing, notice who you are at this time, notice your thoughts, notice your emotions, your mood and do not attempt to change anything, just observe how you are in this moment. Then with that level of self-awareness, start to watch all the people moving around you on the street. Watch them for a few moments.

Notice all the different shapes, different sizes, different facets, colours, mannerisms, ways, habits and idiosyncrasies that vary so much from one person to another. Yet despite all these distinctions and differences, there is so much that is similar between you and every one of the people you watch all around you.

You know that all these people have similar basic needs and basic desires for themselves and their loved ones.

Take a moment and look at the people around you, and understand this idea fully before moving on. Get a sense of connection with your fellow people, feel the commonality that you share with each person, become aware of what you all have in common at this time.

As you watch these people, your fellows in your town or city, take a few moments to just accept them all as they are in this moment. Realising how similar you are to these others, just take some time to truly accept them as they are - be accepting and understanding and notice how that feels, how enjoyable that is, and when you feel that you have developed a sense of that within yourself, move on to the next step.

Step Four: Knowing that you have so much in common with other people, and having accepted them all at a deep level right here and now, you realise that you can accept yourself as you truly are.

Accept yourself too now. Express acceptance about everything that you are. Accept your own feelings, thoughts, aspirations, ways of being. Imagine this self-acceptance is like a colour or a sound or a sensation that moves and travels throughout every aspect of your body and mind.

Start to repeat some affirmations to yourself at this stage to build up these feelings of assuredness - make sure you repeat it to yourself in a way that is undeniably convincing, with some real sense of meaning. Say it to yourself in way that feels like you truly believe it:

I feel more and more wonderful being me.

I am comfortable in my own skin.

I like and love being me.

I feel deeply reassured.

I am safe.

I am in control of how and who I am.

If there are other affirmations that you prefer, then use them, apply them to yourself with some vigour and in a way that really gives you a great sense of self.

As you say these things to yourself, now find a shop window to gaze at. Look at your own reflection, see yourself as vividly as you can and continue to repeat those words to yourself in your mind while looking at yourself and being appreciative of yourself.

Gaze deep into the eyes of your reflection and notice that the expression deep in the eyes is one that you know belongs to someone with a growing sense of self-belief and self-esteem and confidence in their ability to be in control of their own life. Notice what tells you that is true.

Once you have really connected with your reflection, all the time repeating those affirmations of well-being, when you've enjoyed enough of those developed deeper feelings, then move on to the final step.

Step Five: Enjoy the feelings within you and tell yourself that they stay with you after this session has come to end. Think of some action you can take this very day that is evidence to you of your developing and growing self-esteem. Show yourself that you trust in you and that you appreciate you and go and take that action whenever is pertinent to do so.

Take a deep energising breath, and let it radiate through you. Wiggle your toes and fingers, open your eyes, stretch your arms out and tune in to your surroundings.

Spend a week running through this session daily inside your mind and take some action, do something different in your life to truly confirm that you are growing in self-esteem and glowing with confidence.
