Hypnosis For Weight Loss - A DIY Guide!

Lets be clear about this. What you do is controlled by your brain. The mind is in charge of the body. This is a simple concept that we all understand. When it comes to achieving goals however we can often be sidetracked into being concerned with external factors that we have little or no control over. Often people wanting to lose weight will blame their genetics, or their bone structure, or their hormones, or some other health factor that we have little control over. These are simply a distraction. In life we all have to work with what we have now, not how we wish things were. In fact, it is better to stop the 'blame game' entirely. Blaming ourselves, others, the world, etc. is most likely completely unproductive as well as draining and demotivating.

What is key is recognising that in order to achieve new goals we need to change our actions, and changing our actions can only be done by changing our mind.

Note that I am not just talking about changing what we think. Yes, this is important, but far more important is changing our subconscious drives. Our behaviour is directly driven by the emotional/subconscious mind. This fact was recognised by all the early psychiatrists and neurologists like Freud, Charcot and Jung.

Freud compared the mind to an iceberg with the smallest visible part compared to the conscious mind, and the deeper, larger, driving part of our mind being hidden beneath the surface.

Given that it is the subconscious mind that drives behaviour and that behavioural change is what is needed for new goals, how do we access that part of the mind?

Hypnosis. This is the key. Now hypnosis can be done formally with the help of a qualified hypnotherapist or you can use it yourself. There are several aspects of hypnosis that should be achieved:

1. Relaxation. This allows the 'critical facility' of the pre frontal cortex to be quietened. Slowing down the critical facility means that changes are more likely to be accepted into the deeper regions of the mind.

2. Visualisation/emotional recall. Purposefully triggering emotions or triggering visualisations that are connected with emotional states allows us to directly manipulate the emotional 'subconscious' mind.

3. Hypnotic suggestion. The best forms of suggestion, including hypnotic suggestion for weight loss, are done by a second party. Suggestions that are delievered by someone else are usually more effective than suggestions you give yourself. However autosuggestion (giving yourself suggestions) that you really can believe in is also effective.

Whether it is hypnosis for weight loss, hypnosis for depression, performance or motivation it doesn't really matter. Follow the simple steps below:

1. Relax in a comfortable position. It can be either sitting or lying. Then close your eyes.

2. Starting with your toes, clench and relax progressively every muscle group in your body until you reach the top of your head. As far as you can, focus on each muscle group. Especially notice the muscles in your abdomen.

3. As you release the muscles in your abdomen, take three slow deep breaths ensuring that your abdomen rises and falls. Do not breathe from your chest. This is the time to let it 'all hang out'.

4. Breathe normally and continue the relaxation process. Remember to clench and relax the shoulders, neck, upper arms, lower arms and hands.

5. Remember to relax the muscles of the face and jaw if necessary by clenching them first.

6. Mentally scan your body and re-relax any areas that you need to.

7. Introduce mental relaxation by imaging any worrying thoughts or nagging thoughts disappearing. You might like to image them floating away or disappearing into a mist or being breathed out with every out breath.

8. Visualise a favourite place. This can be a place from your memory or a place you can create in your imagination. It should be somewhere you feel relaxed and safe. Spend some time visualising each element that exists in this place - the floor, the walls, the view et cetera. Importantly also imagine the feeling of being there.

9. Recall the old feeling, the one you want to move away from. It could be a feeling of craving junk food, or it could be a feeling of dissatisfaction with a small meal, or it could be a feeling of anxiety that belies the secondary feelings. Think about what the feeling is that really drives your behaviours; then recall it. Just feel it for a few moments if you can, and now SWITCH as quickly as you can to a replacement feeling. The replacement feeling will be one of contentment, fullness, relaxation, achievement or success. Invoke a pleasant memory or imagined scenario to create the new emotion. Do this process a minimum of three times.

10. Recall any unhelpful 'old' thoughts. Replace them with a new, more helpful thoughts. For example replace 'It's OK to have one more' with 'I have the right to chose what I put in my body' or 'I am chosing to be in control'. Say the new thought to yourself and experience as much as possible the new feelings that are associated with this new, more balanced approach. You might imagine erasing the old thoughts by rubbing them off a chalk board. Do this a minimum of three times with each unhelpful thought you have identified.

11. Anchor the new feeling and thoughts by performing some movement like pressing together the thumb and forefinger. Alternatively you could pay extra attention to the relaxation in a specific part of your body. You could also recalling a piece of music or say a phrase in your mind that reminds you of this state.

12. Recall the old behaviour. Really imagine it as much as you can, like it was a scene on tv or a movie screen. Now imagine you had a rewind button. Hit rewind to get back to the beginning of the scene and then play events forward again, this time with the new behaviour. Again do this a minimum of three times.

13. Say to yourself 'this old problem is fading, every day I move further and further away from the old behaviours and old feeligns' 'I am creating a new destiny'.

14. When you are ready, gently come back to a normal state of awareness and open your eyes.

This whole process should take somewhere between about 10 and about 30 minutes.

When you have practised this a few times use the anchor that you created (the touch of the thumb and forefinger, or relaxation in part of your body or the phrase) whenever you need to feel and think the way that you planned. Make sure the thoughts and emotions are enough to overcome the situation; if they are not then you will need to practise the self hypnosis more often or get professional help.

I recommend that you practice this procedure around once a day for a week and then about once or twice a week until you are confident that the new thoughts, feelings and behaviour are firmly installed.

Changing your thoughts, feelings and actions through hypnosis is easy once you have practiced it a few times.

Best wishes in achieving your full potential!

Control Your Holiday Eating Self Hypnosis Script

The tendency to overindulge in food and drink is never stronger than during the holiday season. It's been estimated that the average adult American gains several pounds during the holiday season. We all know the old saying, "An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure." With a little preventative help from self hypnosis, you can fully enjoy the holidays and your favorite foods without overdoing it.

Self hypnosis is a simple, yet powerful means for programming your mind and body to behave differently. It gets past the resistant and critical self, and lets us speak directly to the subconscious mind, the part of us responsible for our habits and our appetites.

When self hypnosis is applied, it turns positive self talk into self empowerment. The same suggestions and affirmations employed while self hypnotized have many times the impact of those same suggestions would otherwise have.

Best of all, self hypnosis is fast and relaxing. You do not lose your awareness at any time and you can rouse and respond quickly if there's an emergency in your environment. While there are many ways to self hypnotize, and practice is required for mastery, here's an four step recipe.

Find a place where you won't be interrupted for about 20 minutes.Close your eyes and relax your body, one part at a time, starting with your head and working your way down to your toes.Silently count your breaths backward from one hundred, repeating the phrase "twice as relaxed" between each breath. Direct your mind to slow down with every number and breath. When you truly feel a profound sense of relaxation and mental stillness, you may then silently apply suggestions to change the way you eat and drink during the holidays.

Here's a mini-script you may use to get you started:

"I easily control what I eat and drink during the holiday season so that I can maintain my health and weight. By having smaller amounts, I enjoy each taste and each bite more fully. This enjoyment fills me more than the food and drink, so I discover I actually want less. Whenever I am offered food and drink at a holiday occasion, I become very aware of the choices in front of me. This awareness gives me great freedom to control what I eat and drink. And as I choose to eat and drink only small amounts, I feel a surge of self empowerment arise from within me. This great self control makes me feel more festive during the holidays than any amount of food or drink ever could, because I will enter the New Year cheerfully, feeling good about my body. By mindfully managing how much I eat and drink during the holidays, I have a lot to celebrate. Freedom, confidence and self control are the best gifts I could ever give myself this season. So I freely choose to confidently control what and how much I eat and drink during the holidays."

When you've delivered the suggestions to yourself, emerge from self hypnosis by counting up from one to five and telling yourself that when you reach the number five, your eyes will open and you'll emerge from hypnosis refreshed and alert.

Yes, it's that easy.

The hypnotic procedure and suggestions may be memorized, recorded or used with the "hypnosis as you read" method. It's recommended you perform the self hypnosis session once a day for three to seven consecutive days as the holiday season approaches. Then, reapply the day of any holiday occasion, such as a party.

By using self hypnosis to maintain control, you can easily overcome the temptation to indulge of the season. You will walk proudly into the coming year healthy, happy, and without extra pounds. Truly, that's something to celebrate!

Free Self Hypnosis - 100% Effective Technique

You use Free Self Hypnosis Techniques Every Day!

We humans, if asked, would probably say we believe that when we awaken each day we are free to start a brand new day. However, that is far from the truth. By the time you open your eyes in a morning your day has already been pre-determined. The day you are about to experience is based on whatever you were thinking about as you dropped off to sleep the previous night.

The period prior to sleep at night is the most important time of your day as the thoughts you think immediately before sleep can either make or break you. Whatever you are thinking about in this period of time is taken into sleep with you and then worked upon all night long by your subconscious mind while you sleep.

Up until this point you may not have noticed that your morning thoughts and those that flood into your mind when you awaken during the night are a continuation of the thoughts you took into sleep. Then the thoughts you entertain in that sleepy morning state are pre-determining your day.

The sleepy state that everyone enters at night prior to sleep is a natural hypnotic state as is the morning period of sleepiness before your eyes are opened. The evening state is called the hypnogogic state and the morning state the hypnopompic state. These are two naturally hypnotic states that all humans enter at least once every day prior to sleep and on awakening. In these periods of time the human mind is highly susceptible to suggestion. Some say that in this hypnotic state the mind is over one thousand times more inclined to accept as true any suggestions it is given than in a normal waking state.

In both of these periods your body is relaxed, your eyes are closed; your brain waves have slowed down from your normal waking beta brainwave state. You are experiencing an alpha level of consciousness akin to a deliberately induced hypnotic trance state.

While awake your subconscious mind is listening and responding to everything you say, hear and experience. Everything is being made sense of, catalogued, put into memory banks and acted upon all day long. When you drop off to sleep your conscious mind becomes unconscious and your constant mind chatter stops but this doesn't mean the subconscious sleeps.

It stays alert and carries on with the regeneration of your body. It carries on breathing for you, renewing skin cells, burning fat and digesting food. It also carries on working on the thoughts you took into sleep with you. Those last thoughts have absolutely no competition and they are worked on all night long. On awakening in the night and in the morning your thoughts are always a continuation of last night's thoughts and whatever you are thinking about in the sleepy hypnotic morning state is colouring and shaping your day.

Some people go to bed at night and as they lay down to sleep they go back through their day and think about all the things that went wrong. They think about the things they failed to get done; the messy house, the pile of work on their desk, the pile of ironing, the dirty car or the fact they didn't get to the gym. They think of all the things they did wrong; the overeating they indulged in, the chocolate they ate, the harsh words or the arguments. They go over their regrets and the things they feel guilty about and then they drop off to sleep.

When they awaken in the night the same thoughts immediately flood into their mind, sometimes keeping them awake for hours and when they awaken in the morning the same thing happens; it all floods back in. The day then proceeds in a very predictable way; it's a copy of the previous day; the house gets messier, the pile of work gets bigger and the worse it gets, the worse it gets. You've found yourself in the film, 'Groundhog Day' and it sometimes seems like there's no way out.

But take heart, there is a way out and the easiest way to change your life is to change what you think about before you go to sleep at night and to take into sleep the things you want to achieve. When you do this your deeper mind is working all night long on your dreams and aspirations and working on and finding a way for you to achieve whatever you've focused upon. You are your own hypnotist and a very good one at that. You hypnotise yourself every day so make sure you're hypnotising yourself positively and you're heading in the right direction.

Those who achieve the most in life are those who write lists of what they want to achieve for the following day, the week, the month or the year. When you write down what you want to achieve you are instructing your mind to take you there. Of course you could just as easily say or think what you are going to do but the memory is not as reliable as the written word. There is something about writing goals down that makes them more concrete and more achievable. You can talk about building your own home for years but it doesn't become a concrete thing until the architect (you) draws up the plans.

Taking the time to write down what you intend to achieve in the next day, the next week or any time in the future is the best thing you can do each evening. That way you are taking into sleep what you want to achieve and when you make the effort to do this on a daily basis your days will change beyond all recognition. At the very least you could make a decision to think positive things each evening as you lay down to sleep. Even a few minutes thinking uplifting thoughts and focussing on the things you want can and will work wonders.

This is the time to take yourself to the end of anything you want to achieve; to imagine it done and to imagine what you are saying to you now you've achieved it. Add in as many feelings as you can, imagine the joy, the jubilation or the relief, whichever is appropriate. Feel the smile on your face, the feelings of satisfaction and feel your chest swelling with pride if pride is fitting. Take those images and feelings into sleep with you and your deeper, subconscious mind will take you there.

If there's something puzzling you, something you would like to answer to or even something you would like more clarity on, the time prior to sleep is a good time to ask a solution based question about it. Let the question drop into your mind prior to sleep and tell yourself that when you awaken the answer will be there. This is a great free self hypnosis technique and one that really works.

I'm guessing that the majority of you automatically shower, wash your hair, clean your teeth and, if female, take make-up off at night before re-applying it every morning. The majority of us wouldn't dream of going to bed dirty or leaving the house without cleansing our bodies no matter how much time it takes. Just as you have developed habits of physical cleanliness you can develop an evening habit that cleanses your mind.

Your new evening routine will fill your mind full of positive clean energy and you'll wake up refreshed, full of good feelings and ready to start your day. You'll be clean inside and out and instead of just sparkling on the outside your light will shine from within too.

Great Relaxation Techniques With Self Hypnosis Techniques

Most people have either heard of hypnosis or have seen others being hypnotized. Self-hypnosis does not mean a person sitting in trance without control of what they are doing or saying. Rather, it means being in full control of one's subconscious mind. Through self hypnosis techniques, one bypasses their conscious mind for the sake of re-programming their expectations as well as their inner belief system. When one works with their subconscious mind, they increase the possibilities of changing their lives positively.

Self hypnosis through various techniques can be of extreme benefit. One can attain sharper focus, beat addictions, improve relationships, improve health, and achieve success and so on. In fact, due to these benefits, major organizations and companies often make use of self-hypnosis to their employees to improve productivity. One of the best and most affordable ways for self-hypnosis is by use of binaural beats that work with brain frequencies to allow an individual to tap into their subconscious mind as well as working with different states of mind that have been altered. When one listens to bin-aural beats, the mind attains a high focus, which allows a person to respond to instructions quickly.

Naturally, the human mind has the ability to tune to positive aspects as it eliminates the negative ones. Effective use of bin-aural beats does not only bring excellent results, but these results are also long term. Furthermore, not only do bin-aural beats allow a person to achieve their goals, but they also help one to increase their memory, obtain sharper mind focus and to attain much higher self-confidence. Self-hypnosis using binaural beats can actually positively change the way a person approaches life.

In fact, bin-aural beats are believed to be the fastest and easiest way that one can use to achieve great success quickly. Note that this technique, which is one of the brainwave entrainment techniques that has been around for many years, has been scientifically proven. Therefore, there is no reason why a person should not use it to achieve success in their lives. Each person has certain goals they want to achieve, may it be a career, relationships, health and so on. By use of bin-aural beats as well as other brainwave entrainment techniques it becomes much easier to achieve these goals.

In addition to relaxation, listening to bin-aural beats enables a person to fall asleep quickly, in addition, to enjoy a deeper and restful sleep. Among other self hypnosis techniques, binaural beats are known to enable a person to reach very deep levels of meditation. This is because binaural beats help one to experience low brainwave frequencies, which are associated with high levels of consciousness and deeper meditation. Bin-aural beats also help in stress reduction as they are able to calm the mind and body. In addition, they allow one to think clearly thus enabling a person to deal with stress in a better way. There are certain frequencies that have been shown to help a person's body to heal quickly and to improve their immune system as well as ease pain. With these benefits in mind, there is no reason why the use of bin-aural beats should be left only to corporations and to athletes over other individuals.

Does Hypnosis Work To Stop Smoking and How Does It Work?

Why do a lot of people smoke? There are many reasons. Peer pressure, boredom, the need to experiment and even self expression. These are just few of the many explanations why people engage in this kind of habit.

To quit smoking is a great challenge. But it is certainly one of the best things you can do for your health. Smoking is a life threatening habit. It is the main cause of cancer. It also increases your predisposition to major heart attacks, strokes, lung problems, and other health conditions, which includes bone fractures and cataracts.

If many non-pharmacologic interventions haven't helped you kick out the habit of smoking, don't lose hope. Consult your physician if hypnosis is an advantage for you. Studies shows that hypnosis can help people quit from smoking.

What is hypnosis? Hypnosis is characterized as a changed state of awareness wherein people appear to be asleep or in trance. Clinical hypnosis is utilized to handle some physical and psychological problems. For example, it is usually performed to assist patients control pain. It is also utilized in many different kinds of conditions like weight problems, speech difficulties, and addiction problems.

Hypnosis consists of at least a single session which lasts between sixty to ninety minutes. It is believed that during hypnosis, the person is relaxed and focuses more, and is more open to listen to suggestions- like giving up smoking, for example. During hypnosis, the person is not totally unconscious but is still cognizant of the surroundings.

In the hypnosis session for smoking cessation, a patient is requested to picture unpleasant results from smoking. For example, the hypnotherapist would advise that cigarette smoke smells like a truck exhaust or that smoking will make the person's mouth feeling extremely dry.

One of the most popular hypnosis techniques for smoking cessation is Spiegel's method which centers on three main ideas:

Smoking afflicts the body

Your body is needed to live

You should treat your body with utmost respect and do all means to protect it

The therapist teaches the smoker how to perform self-hypnosis, and requests the smoker to say the affirmations over and over anytime the urge to smoke occurs. The success and intensity of hypnosis changes from every individual.

Hypnotherapy is just one of the many alternate therapies acquiring wide acknowledgement at some of the country's best hospitals and medical research institutes.

Here are some tips on how to look for a qualified hypnotherapist:

a. See to it that they're trained and licensed with a present license in a health care field like medicine, psychiatry, nursing, or psychology.

Four Laws Of The Mind Essential For Effective Self Hypnosis

To make your self hypnosis effective you need to be aware of certain principles. If you are not aware of the following laws of the mind then you may end up creating the opposite of what you desire with your self hypnosis practice.

1. Every thought affects the body as well.

In other words, although the mind and the body are understood to be separate in practice it doesn't work that way. Mental stress can create knots in your back or even give you ulcers. Therefore, Be aware of your thinking. If you are negative all the time to yourself or about your surroundings it is the same as negative self hypnosis.

2. What you expect tends to be realized.

If you wake up telling yourself you will have a bad day you probably will. In other words your expectations drive your results. Negative expectations is the same as negative self hypnosis.

3. Imagination is stronger than knowledge.

You 'know' that ghosts and monsters do not exist. Yet hearing ghost stories at night will create fear. Especially if sitting around a campfire in a forest. There is no contest. Imagination will always win. Another point for the importance of positive thoughts and visualizations in your practice of self hypnosis.

4. What you resist the most stays with you.

Have you ever had to stop doing something and found that its more difficult than you realized? Maybe you have had occasion to go on a diet and suddenly foods that you couldn't have cared less about start looking very appetizing? Maybe there was/is someone who irritates you and you know there is no reason to. So you try to keep the irritation away but it gets to you even more?

I could go on and on with examples. Basically, when you resist something it tends to stick. This happens because when you resist you have to think of the very thing you are trying to resist, so it's continuously on your mind.

It's as if someone told you that they would give you a $1000 if you don't think of a pink elephant all day. I'm sure you don't spend your time thinking of something as random as a pink elephant. However, trying to resist that image of a pink elephant with a $1000 on the line would be impossible.

In other words, what you resist tends to stay with you. Which means that in focusing on an affirmation for self hypnosis you have to phrase the affirmation in the positive. I.e. affirm what you want to achieve and NOT on what you don't want.

Follow these four laws of the mind and your day to day thoughts will be more guided in a positive direction. Of course, your thoughts create your internal emotional states which is the same as self hypnosis. So you have to be aware of your thoughts to create the state of being that you desire.

How to Lose Weight Permanently With Hypnosis

A very prominent issue regarding habits of childhood is obesity. Children are often forced to consume larger meals by their parents and teachers. Some children ignore it and consume only as per their hunger, while some children take undue advantage of these forceful attempts and become addicted to fatty and junk food.

This gives rise to childhood obesity, which continues until later in life when it transforms into a disease. Hypnosis is a great way to curb this bad habit and gain a healthy body. A lot of food products like chocolates, ice creams, sweets are consumed more due to a sense of satisfaction. People presume in their minds that they can curb depression and anxiety by eating such food. This is called "soul food" which makes you feel happy and satisfied.

Hypnosis helps your mind control the urge to binge on these food products. It withers away subconscious confrontation by contradicting subconscious patterns to bring in beneficial thoughts into the subconscious mind. Hypnotherapists strongly believe that hypnosis is the ultimate way for a person to take complete control of his/her habits.

The immediate aim of this therapy is to build a strong connection between the ultimate outcome and affirmative action in the subconscious of a person. Consequent and regular back up of this connection brings the "trance" and "reality" nearer until they finally come together. To put it succinctly, these connections help build new thoughts.

Any hypnotherapist can also record the entire course of your lose weight hypnosis treatment, so you can listen to it after a successful session. Repetition of mental exercises ensures that your problem is handled carefully and the new information is processed in your subconscious mind, turning it into a habit. Lose weight hypnosis deals with obesity issues in people of all ages. On the other hand, the best aspect of hypnosis is that it can make your mind get rid of obesity exponentially quicker than any other therapy.

It helps you disconnect your comfort with consuming more food by altering the part of memory where it was first created. The hypnotist creates an image in the mind of the person through glass dome. The level of anxiety reduces just as the glass dome goes down, and when it ends up, the anxiety level also goes away.

However, the success of this therapy solely depends upon the desire of the person. A person with stronger will and desire is more likely to recover sooner than a person who is forced to undergo the therapy.

Hipknowsys: Kool Knowledge System - No Hype Hypnosis - Simpson Substitution

There are probably as many methods in hypnotherapy as there are individuals working in the field. Subtle though the differences may be, one thing is certain: the therapist must feel comfortable in her/his own skin if the client is to gain maximum benefit. It can take a while to find one's own niche; I was certified in 1982, and have coined something of a motto based on what I've found most helpful in the introductory stage: It's no fun unless it's fun! Word-play is a favorite, as evidenced by the title of this article, and as you may already know from my original songs. Humorous, helpful insights are everywhere, and, with apologies to all the highly skilled hypnotherapists around, with the word "hypnosis," (besides being Greek to me) how could a self-respecting word-play fan possibly resist tailoring it to a more comfortable fit? Not with those three juicy syllables!

Self-Hypnosis

Results are actually perception shifts, and must be consciously chosen before being committed to the automatic pilot that is the subconscious mind. Analogies (parables) and music are two very powerful tools in pleasant self-hypnosis. They are my purpose for writing and recording such music, and the intention in writing my two books, Sing Yourself a Miracle, and The Parable of the Stars.

Symptom Substitution?

Freud introduced the theory of Symptom Substitution, which contends that the alleviation of one symptom (such as an undesirable habit) will likely be replaced by another, which simply substitutes for the vanquished problem. Not a very fun idea, is it? Because of its negative underpinnings, together with Freud's inability to satisfactorily explain this phenomenon, the Symptom Substitution theory has been largely rejected in modern psychology. It isn't very helpful to say such a theory is true without being able to say why it is true, and this is where Freud fell short.

Simpson Substitution

We will explore this further momentarily, but for now, let's try a new, heretofore unheard of, hopefully amusing approach: substituting Simpson Substitution for Freud's Symptom Substitution. In this concept we first consciously choose to identify with the Lisa Simpson personality if we suspect we have a bit too much "Bart" in us. Or-vice-versa-if we are fed up with emulating sweet little Lisa but can't seem to help ourselves. I've always had a little Bart in me, which I'm happy with, but wouldn't want any more than I have. A Homer makeover is not currently available, and please do not contact me if you are thinking of becoming an O.J. copy-cat.

A Course in Miracles

Just as Buddhism (and now also Quantum Physics) teaches that the world is illusory, yet can't explain why we choose to live the illusion, so too did Freud's Symptom Substitution theory only raise further questions. In the 1960s Dr. Helen Schucman, a psychologist at Columbia Presbyterian University in NYC, working with her Department Head, Dr. William Thetford, began compiling a three-volume set of books titled A Course in Miracles, that would give very clear answers to why we choose to live an illusion, and, at the same time, the purpose which Freud's Symptom Substitution serves.

Buddhist and Freud Riddles

Here is a quick clue-a personal example that gives an insight into both the Buddhist and Freud riddles: I was talking with a Catholic Priest about smoking; he told me that he always gives up smoking for Lent, but smoked the rest of the year. My reply was that he was getting it all backwards; he should smoke during Lent and give it up the rest of the year. Why would I say that? I think he didn't get it-perhaps later, if he thought about it, but not at that time. Another clue: what is the purpose for Lent in Catholicism? In that answer lies both the purpose for Symptom Substitution, which eluded Freud, himself, and also the reason Buddhism fails to give for choosing to live an illusion. Happy quantum leaps!

How to Resolve Problematic Issues in Life Through Stop Hypnosis Therapy

Depression is caused by too many negative thoughts and worrying. Some people are unable to appreciate the simple things in life. They judge life according to black and white decisions, which makes them harder to please and rarely happy. This is the reason why some people develop behavioral problems that require the use of anti-depressants.

While anti-depressants work, depending on them in order to feel good is not healthy. It only renders a person helpless and because of that real progress is not achieved. Stop hypnosis procedures can be used to remove the hold of anti-depressant addiction and free a person from the prison of his negative thoughts. By turning to self-hypnosis and using positive affirmations, one can feel better and open up to life. Many positive things could happen by allowing positive thoughts to get inside the subconscious mind.

Curing the Need for Anti-depressants

Stop hypnosis scripts are needed to help a person become determined and motivated to stop using anti-depressants. Hypnosis sessions can help them figure out a way to realize that they can live a happy and meaningful life even without the anti-depressants. People who use anti-depressants live like zombies, they exist but they're not actually "living".

Solving Pornography Addiction

Pornography addiction can also be removed remove using stop hypnosis methods. Pornography addiction is a mental sickness that renders the affected person to be addicted to sex without real companionship. Men who get addicted to pornography have nowhere to go and have low self-esteem. Some of them may think that they would not be able to achieve this kind of intimacy in a relationship, causing them to turn to pornography for temporary gratification.

Self-hypnosis can help a person bring back their confidence. It helps them focus on positive images that could bring them back to the real world. Anything that is done in excess is bound to destroy. If one is unsuccessful in removing pornography addiction, they have to try using hypnosis scripts to remind them they are worthy to be loved. People do not need to watch pornography just to feel fulfilled. The same is true with issues regarding TV addiction.

TV addiction can make a person live life without zest. These people depend on their favorite reality shows and drama series to keep them going; it's all they look forward to. Not all kinds of shows are beneficial. Watching television all day is not a productive way to spend life. In order to get past this, one has to see how beautiful the real life can be. All they have to do is focus on the other areas of their life that they can improve. The same is true with helping kids and adults stay away from addiction to war games. Some people turn to this virtual world because they do not want to face life and solve their problems. By using stop hypnosis, they can find the power to face their life headstrong.

Healing Your Emotional Self With Hypnosis

Greek mythology tells a story of the phoenix, a brightly coloured bird that lived for hundred of years. At the end of its life it builds a nest of sweetly scented cinnamon twigs. As the bird lies down the nest bursts into flames consuming the Phoenix and turning the bird into ashes. The mythical bird then rises from the ashes, stronger and more beautiful than before. It is also said that the tears of the Phoenix heals and regenerates hurts and wounds, and is a symbol of fire, strength and divinity.

This story represents symbolic rebirth and resurrection. We all have an innate capacity for instigating self-change and renewal, which is the result of true emotional healing. Just as the Phoenix rises from the ashes, you too can rise from the emotional challenges and disappointments in life with new strength of purpose. The metaphor story of the Phoenix rising from the ashes not only symbolizes death and rebirth but also life-death-life experiences. Death of an old life, an old attitude or unwanted feelings, death of outdated limiting thinking patterns and behaviours into personal rebirth and renewal of the psyche or spirit.

Conditioned Reality - Letting It Go

Who you are and where you are today is the total sum of the choices you have made in the past, whether you made them consciously or unconsciously. Our beliefs and values are established early in life. Environmental, parental and social conditioning, together with life experiences have a major influence in how we think, how we feel and how we perceive our world. Your limiting thought patterns keeps the limiting beliefs alive by feeding them energy, and nothing can sabotage you as much as your own unwelcome or conflicting thoughts.

Our conscious everyday reality is ego based, it is the surface level of mind that requires instant gratification. Fear-based emotions feed the ego cutting us off from our higher self, cutting us off from our intuition.

To feel in control and balanced emotionally we need to understand and learn how to recognize, react and release emotions when we feel them, instead of keeping them bottled up or over reacting and regretting our behaviour later. For every negative thought or feeling an opposite exists, for example:

Fear - CourageAnxiety- CalmnessSelf-criticism - Self loveUncertainty - ConfidenceWeakness - StrengthSelf-Pity - Self respectImpatience - ToleranceRejection - AcceptanceDespair- HopeMisery - JoyApathy - PassionUncaring - Compassionate

When we start to live from our heart it has the effect of overcoming the ego. This allows you to enter into a whole new energy where you can flow within your world in balance and harmony within your self, and with others. We all have a beautiful light within but often this light is in a state of sleep, or hibernation. This results from constantly feeding the ego and not recognizing our spirit within. Debilitating negative thought patterns are highly destructive. Low self-esteem, feeling inadequate or unworthy means you are functioning from the lower mental plains, from your ego, and we are so much more than this.

Ego Based Emotions

We are all responsible for overcoming our ego based emotions, and when you choose to you can make the body-mind shift from what you believe is your reality to understanding that you are unwittingly co-creating it. This is the first step to changing your life for the better. Through the deepest form of human understand, which is love the light awakens and you can rise yourself to a place self-empowerment. This ability is within you; it's your birthright, are you ready to claim it?

How to Use Self Hypnosis to Overcome Your Greatest Fears

This, in my humble opinion, is the greatest application of self-hypnosis.

All too frequently, self-hypnosis is only used as a simple tool for robotic personal development. Fixing 'bad habits' can definitely be beneficial, but it does not really change you at a deep level.

Starting the process of facing and overcoming your deepest fears, though, is a transformation that will stay with you for the rest of your life!

One of the best know psychiatrists of the 20th century, Carl Jung, frequently spoke of the value of facing and accepting the shadow.

One of my first teachers, Glenn Morris (author of Path Notes of an American Ninja Master, a book on meditation), spoke of the personality as a series of masks. Beneath the masks are attitudes and emotions that we are afraid of. But beneath those lies the hidden brilliance of the True Self.

One of the best known Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP) trainers out of the UK, Jamie Smart, likes to describe humans as diamonds covered in crap, then covered in fingernail polish. If you chip away the surface personality, you will get to see all the crap. But if you chip away all the crap, the radiance of the diamond begins to shine.

All of this points toward the same thing. We all have emotions we do not like to accept are a part of us. Anger, greed, laziness, pride, lust, envy, and gluttony are not just a list of sins... they are also integral parts of the human personality. Most people can easily see this in some of their friends, or in people they do not like. The real question is, can you see it in yourself?

Assuming you are honest enough to answer 'yes' to that question, the next question tends to be:

"What can I do about it?"

The answer is learn to properly apply self-hypnosis, to face and accept the lesser you (or the hidden you) that is essentially a vice machine. The really neat thing about this, is when you begin to accept these hidden aspects of yourself, they start to melt away from your personality. It's as if they only act up when they are being denied.

"That which you resist, persists!" -Carl Jung

Before I cover the process of self-hypnosis, I will spell out what tends to be the greatest of human fears.

Most people secretly fear that they are exactly what they most hate in other people!

And they are. We all are. It is part of the human condition. All the filthiest traits of humanity are a part of you and me at a very primal level. The only real way to manage and reduce this is to recognize and accept it. It is only after you do this that the beauty beneath the vice begins to be expressed.

Even more simply, this is likely just another variation on the fear of death. To accept that you have the same qualities as those which you villainize is equivalent to death for your ego.

Now for our exercise. Before you start, you will want to establish the fear or negative emotion you want to deal with, and what you might consider its opposite... the condition or state you would experience if the negative emotion were eliminated... for example, fear & love, sadness & joy, anger & peace, etc. If the process is too challenging or overwhelming at any point, it is alright to stop and continue at a later time. It is also advisable to ask for help from whatever higher power is appropriate for you (The Universe, The Tao, Buddha-Nature, God, Higher Intelligence, etc.) at any point in the process where you feel you need it.

Disclaimer: Do not attempt this exercise if you are seeing a medical or psychiatric professional about your fear (or other negative emotions) without consulting with them first!

How to face and overcome your deepest fears with Self-Hypnosis:

Find a seated upright position, or a comfortably reclined position.Begin to breathe comfortably, deeply, and slowly, until you become deeply relaxed.Focus internally, and let go of any resistance within. Imagine you are relaxing your mind, emotions, and spirit.Bring up the negative emotion, and do your best to maintain the relaxation.Imagine the emotion as a wayward child returning home. Even as painful as it may be, do your best to accept it, and redirect it. Remember that negative emotions evolved in an attempt to be helpful.Notice that the more you accept it, the more you can see and experience the positive counterpart that lies underneath. As the negative emotion transforms, you see and feel the Beauty hidden within. As the positive emotion shines through, you can return it back to the world (you've taken in fear, faced it, and returned love. You've taken in anger, faced it, and returned peace).

Once you have finished the process, give yourself some time to relax, reflect, and feel good about the fact you have done something that around 95% of the population will never do.

With some of the deeply embedded emotions, you might have to practice a few time to really get it to come up. You will know when you have really fully faced the negative emotion. It will always seem different afterwards. You may still experience the negative emotion from time to time... but you will always maintain a certain awareness about the Beauty behind it, so it will never again affect you as it did before.

Godspeed on your journey!

How To Use Self Hypnosis For Better Health

The practice of self-hypnosis goes back to antiquity. It not only is a great therapeutic method it is also relaxing and calming and can help transform you into the person you want to be.

Self-hypnosis bears a resemblance to sleep but it is instead an altered state of consciousness. When the ability to monitor brain waves was invented researches found that the only difference between some on in a hypnotic trance and a normal state was the absence of higher frequency brain waves. While everyone experiences hypnosis a little differently some common experiences are a reduced awareness of things going on around them like noise and conversation and then there is the extreme relaxation and reduced awareness of their own body.

Self-hypnosis is a simple thing to learn and something that everyone can bring about. Self-hypnosis can help you in a variety of ways, it is good to lose weight and to stop smoking, it is good to eliminate many bad habits. It can enhance your ability to learn and help you gain confidence. It is safe and effective and here are some other benefits:

It is not a drug and has no side effects. It is non-invasive, no surgery and nothing gets put into the body.It is inexpensive and you can quickly see results.

Self-hypnosis operates on the link between your mind and your body. It can help change your behavior and your thoughts. You can use it to allow your mind to control your body. Self-hypnosis closely resembles the meditative state. This is not necessarily a relaxed state though that is the usual condition. Self-hypnosis can be used even when you are tense and unhappy.

After beginning to work with self-hypnosis you will quickly find the method that is best for you. While it is challenging to pick up self-hypnosis on your own many have done so. It is easier to go to a hypnotist to learn but it is not a requirement. You need to learn as much as you can about hypnosis so you understand what to expect.

Self hypnosis can be used to change many things about yourself from bad habits to physical conditions such as facilitating weight loss. Many people practice it on a regular basis and become better integrated individuals. Instead of habits pulling against the thing you want to accomplish, self-hypnosis causes your conscious and subconscious minds to work together for your greater good. Your subconscious will become your watch dog as it brings to your conscious mind important information that it is always gathering but which in most people is severed because the link has not been built.

How to Use Hypnosis to Stop Addictive and Problematic Behavior

Many people do not know that hypnosis has the ability to train your mind. They tend to generalize hypnosis as something that magicians do as a trick. It's not surprising if some people think of it as a hoax. Contrary to popular notions, stop hypnosis methods can be used to cure a number of emotional, psychological, and physical problems such as addiction to cigarettes, alcohol, caffeine and obsessive compulsive behavior.

Stop hypnosis methods can also cure insomnia and help a person forget unwanted memories from a traumatic event. It lets a person move on after a break-up. It can also help abused children get past their unwanted childhood memories from abuse, rape and physical violence. More importantly, hypnotism can change a person's outlook in life.

How Hypnosis Tackles Deep Seated Issues

Sometimes a person does not understand why they are acting or feeling weird. Some people don't even understand why they feel depressed. All they know is something is lacking inside of them, but they cannot fill these voids because they don't even understand what it is. Hypnosis can help them go back to their suppressed memories, and understand the root cause of the problem. Using stop hypnosis, a person can determine why they feel the urge to use cigarettes or drugs to stay happy. It gets to the core of their mind and helps them understand what they really need to do. Hypnosis cures people of addictions by injecting positive affirmations and helping them realize that they need to change.

Constructing New Ways of Thinking

There are certain mindsets that have been embedded in our subconscious mind that have to be replaced because they are no longer able to provide us with a mature way to handle life. A good mindset helps make a person make the right decisions, without the interference of emotions. Changing bad habits and mindsets through hypnosis will certainly help a person's mind to move into a better path. One stop hypnosis session focused on smoking would be enough to remove the habit for some people. Some individuals would need 2 or more sessions if they have been using cigarettes for more than 10 years.

Curing Addiction and Breaking Free from Self-defeating Patterns

Stop hypnosis sessions can cure addictions and change bad habits. It works by helping a person realize the negative consequences of their habits, making them realize that they need to change. The stop hypnosis program works by manipulating the subconscious mind and planting ideas that will change the way a person behaves.

The sooner a person starts with the program, the higher chance experiencing improvements. After the program concludes, the person has to continue meditating to strengthen their resolve. Reading the negative effects of an addiction, such as smoking, can also strengthen a person's will to change and be cured.

Increasing Number Of Hypnosis Clinical Trials

Doubters in the reality or efficacy of hypnosis should take heed of the increasing number of clinical trials involving hypnosis that are being carried out. The sheer fact that such research has somehow found a way in which to be funded speaks volumes in itself.

Medical research into hypnosis is never going to be funded by drug companies or similar types of major investors. Thus funding must come from other areas and is not so easy to come by.

A quick look at the US National Institutes of Health Clinical Trials webpage reveals details of 66 trials involving hypnosis. This is great news for those who are interested in holistic treatments as well as mainstream medicine.

There is inevitably a right time and place for different types of medical treatment. But for a treatment to be fully accepted and widely available it first has to prove itself through the process of unbiased research.

One great thing about hypnosis that makes it stand out is that it has no negative side effects and therefore the only risk to a person who employs it is confined to time and money. Medical scientists should therefore not find it difficult to locate sufficient numbers of willing volunteers for their clinical research studies.

An individual who does not want to spare sufficient time to volunteer as a research subject does also have the opportunity to conduct his or her own research. There are many hypnosis mp3 downloads readily available via the Internet. I would suggest that the use of these is approached with an open mind.

Hypnosis is no different from other medical treatments in that the more open minded and positive you are the better the outcome is likely to be. This does not mean that hypnosis is just a placebo. It is not. But the placebo affects the use of hypnosis as a medical treatment or adjunct in the same way as other treatments including that of drugs.

How Hypnosis Works and Affects the Mind

It is a fascinating idea of how the mind can be altered to think in better ways than what it is accustomed to. In truth, most people are not able to change their habits, and this causes them to have a harder time dealing with their life. This is where hypnosis comes in. How hypnosis works would differ in people. Some are easily hypnotized and are more accommodating while some would take a longer time to relax. Hypnosis is an organic and safe way to change one's behavior.

How Hypnosis Works and Helps People

Hypnosis can cure smoking addiction and it can help a person attain their weight goal. It can reduce stress by allowing the person to think of better thoughts. It can help a child get better grades by reducing the effects and impact of emotional problems like bullying. It can likewise help person get cured of insomnia, bed wetting and other sleeping disorders. It can also aid a person in attracting wealth by transforming a person's perception about their skills. In addition, it can help a person increase their self-esteem, build their confidence and make them feel better about themselves. Hypnosis has similarities with what we call guided imagery and visualization. People from all walks of life use this to become more effective. It is guided meditation with higher impact.

How Hypnosis Works in Our Day to Day Activities

Hypnosis happens to us every day. It occurs when we get too engrossed in a certain film. It occurs when we are too focused on doing something that we are hardly able to hear when someone is calling us. It happens when someone is so deep in thought and too focused. During the hypnotic trance the mind is working better and it's more alert and focused than in their conscious state.

Hypnosis is possible even without the help of a hypnotism therapist. This can be done on your own, as a person can wake up from the hypnotic state to a fully conscious state by himself. During the hypnotic state, it is easier to make suggestions to the subconscious mind and it becomes easier for the mind to get convinced with the suggestions made.

Are there People Who can't get Hypnotized?

Hypnosis is drifting to the four levels of a person's state of mind: "the Beta, Alpha, Theta and Delta". People who have an IQ of below 70 will not be able to go through hypnosis, as well as a person who is drunk. There is nothing to worry about when going through hypnosis because the mind still has full control of the body. Hypnosis only strengthens a person's resolve, decisions, passions and goals. It allows people to relax their mind think things through in order to become better. Once you know how hypnosis works, it will be easier for you to undergo it.

How to Control The Minds of Others Using Hypnosis

One of the most common things people look for in hypnosis is the ability to control the minds of others. In fact, some people pay hundreds (or even thousands) of dollars to learn these skills.

This is a very real practice, and it is very possible for you to do if you are so inclined.

The problem, however, is most people approach it from the position of craving power over others. Indulging your weakness will never lead to strength. Recognizing and accepting your weakness is one form of strength. Recognizing and accepting the desire to control others for your own benefit is a real step toward strength. When you recognize and accept that impulse, yet peacefully choose to direct others for their own benefit, you will be experiencing and expressing real strength.

This type of strength is the only positive thing that can come from 'controlling the minds of others'. Most of what is taught to the public are linguistic or situational tricks. There is nothing wrong with using your language or the situation to help guide or lead others, but if you don't transform yourself first, you will not get consistent results, and you will gain no happiness or satisfaction from that practice of hypnosis

If, however, you truly want to guide the minds of others to a positive outcome, you must first practice guiding your own mind and emotions.

Another way of saying this is to get good at hypnosis, you must first get good at self-hypnosis.

This can be done in 6 simple steps:

Learn how to really relax. However good you may be at relaxing now, seek to take it to the next level. Recognize that good health is largely due to a strong self-image and a general state of relaxation and peacefulness the majority of the time. The more you practice going into this place, the more it will become a natural part of who you are... and the more it will be easily available to you all the time.
Once you are regularly relaxed, learn how to direct yourself. Learn your values. Explore what is important to you. Learn what you love. When you direct yourself in accord with your values and that which you love, life becomes almost effortless.
Once you have truly identified your love, begin to live your love. This may not be easy, but it will vastly rewarding. It is likely you will make mistakes. Forgive yourself quickly and completely... and return to living your love. Again, find the place of effortlessness and return as frequently as possible.
Now that you are living your love, keep living it and reinforcing it until it becomes instinctive. Keep coming back to it. Become it. You will know when you get there. Others will notice it as well.
Begin to notice where others can live more congruently with their own values or more fully follow these steps. Once you are living this way, it will become easier and easier to identify how others are not, and how they could quickly change to live more in alignment with their own love/values. No judgment is needed... just awareness.
People will naturally begin to ask you for advice or help when you are living your love. It will happen more commonly once you make it instinctive. When people come to you looking for it, share your wisdom and your experience with them.

Controlling the minds of others might be better described as guiding the emotions of others. It is vastly rewarding to get into this position of leadership. It is joyful to attain this degree of mastery over self, and it is even more joyful to help others to achieve the same in their own lives.

Godspeed on your journey!

Ideal Weight Hypnosis Combined With Gastric Band Surgery

For many obese people a now popular method of weight reduction is gastric band surgery. Like most forms of intervention it works for some but not for others. And there are some very obvious reasons why. For successful weight loss with gastric band surgery there are some key things to do prior to and after surgery, especially ideal weight hypnosis.

A person struggles with weight loss for years. They have tried all the diets, all the exercise programmes, and all they have for their troubles are frustration, pain and sadness.

A person books their surgery; they have two weeks on a low calorie diet. The exact type of diet they have failed on many times. They are already in a stress situation. Surgery and hospital visits are also very stressful.

Post surgery requires two weeks of liquids only. More stress, then a period of gradual adjustment to a new restricted. way of eating. Then adjusts have to be made to the fluid levels which determine how tight the band is. This is done by injection into a port in the band.

Wow it's a wonder anyone succeeds! Studies show that patients who didn't adjust their eating were 2.5 times less likely to succeed. But adjusting eating is the problem in the first place!

There is a way to make your gastric band surgery work much better. Ideal weight hypnosis can address all the issues you may struggle with.

Whether it is stress eating, being able to sustain a low calorie diet, overcoming fear about surgery, or even the concern of having a surgical device fitted. The hypnosis can be applied to having to drink fluids, the loss of the ability to eat normally, having to quit favourite foods.

The list can go on and on. There are as many potential stresses as there are people having these surgeries. The point is that you don't have to fear your surgery or the band or the diet, but you do need to use hypnosis to manage your fear.

Some of these issues will be long term such as the struggle with being able to maintain a healthy diet. This aspect needs carefully work because you have so many connections to past events and feelings.

The fear around the surgery can be handled easily with hypnosis and a few relaxation strategies. By reducing the stress hormones in your system you go to the surgery with a much better chance of a successful outcome.

Hypnosis for Modern Stress

Hypnosis is widely known for its therapeutic benefits, however it is not as widely known by the general public for its relaxation qualities.

In hypnosis the conscious rational mind is allowed to quieten and take a back seat, resulting in the subconscious mind coming more to the fore. This quietening of the racing conscious mind is in itself a very pleasant experience, a little like sleeping, but you are awake and in full control.

After a hypnosis session one of the most common reactions I hear is that my clients haven't felt as relaxed in a very long time. In some cases people say their muscles feel very loose, like all the tensions are gone, other times they report a peace of mind like they have been on holiday for a while.

You see in a hypnosis session you will be asked to follow directions without thinking about them, automatically if you will. The reason for this is the subconscious mind is the automatic mind and by following the directions automatically you allow the conscious mind to quieten and the subconscious mind to become more active. You are still in complete control, but just allowing yourself to enjoy not working so hard for a while.

I have had reports of back and neck pain disappearing in quit smoking sessions due to the release of tension, even though they weren't treated for it.

Most people report a better nights sleep the night after a session, and I would advise anyone to listen to the self hypnosis CD given to them, even if it's not necessary for their issue as most people report benefits from it.

In today's modern age, hypnosis is like a mental massage you can use to recharge your batteries and forget about the stresses of everyday life. We have so many distractions in our modern world, mobile phone, tweets, Facebook, radio, TV, etc. It's no wonder anxiety and depression is on the increase. And an over-active mind (and over-active negative imagination are the primary cause of both). Hypnosis can be used to combat this.

They say prevention is better than cure, and when it comes to mental health, this is certainly true. Hypnosis gives you a feeling of inward control, which is one of the bases of stable mental health.

But whether you wish to enjoy hypnosis for simple relaxation, to gain more control over your life, or understand yourself more, it is a skill that you certainly won't regret learning.

Hypnosis Yields Proven Results

Much has been written about hypnosis, and many movies and TV series have featured characters being hypnotized to do strange things or disclose secret information. That might make for exciting entertainment, but it does not reflect the true value of hypnosis.

These characterizations are often stereotypical so I would like to shed some light on what it is actually like to practice hypnosis from my own experience. Many people have misconceptions about the methods or techniques used to induce a subject into a trance state. The skills required to be a professional practitioner of hypnosis take patience and training to learn. I have been practicing hypnosis professionally for over 40 years, but I continue to learn and expand the scope of my research in this field to this day.

My method of hypnosis utilizes visualization so that subjects are able to reach the somnambulistic state directly. In this level of the subconscious, the subject is removed from their conscious thoughts and is able to move freely through time and space at their own pace. It is necessary to note that I am only a facilitator and guide in this process and whatever the subject experiences is happening directly to them and not because of me.

Hypnosis that takes the subject deep into the somnambulistic state can produce many useful results. By uncovering details about a subject's past lives, a puzzle can be pieced together to establish common threads of their previous existences, which point to larger lessons their soul is learning on its journey of evolution through the ages.

Irrational fears and obsessions of a subject may also be explained through hypnosis. One of the first past life regressions I witnessed revealed that the subject was an accomplice to her gangster boyfriend in Roaring '20s Chicago. Her boyfriend asked her to wrap a gun in a towel with bricks to weigh it down and throw the makeshift package from a boat into a lake to hide it from the police. Later, upon awakening from the session, the subject revealed she had a recurring dream for years in her present life about going out on a boat and throwing something overboard.

Many different methods and procedures of hypnosis can be used until the subject finds the one they are most comfortable with. One of my methods utilizes visualizing an elevator. When the subject feels they have arrived at the correct floor, and the elevator door opens, they have a desire to get off and explore whatever they see. When the session ends, the elevator rises up through the somnambulistic state until the subject is once again engaged with their conscious mind.

This is but one example of many methods of hypnosis that have been proven to work and my hope is that this valuable tool will be used by more and more trained practitioners in the years to come.
